347 Steps is the name of a Song written by Jett Brown. While Thom (Jett) was in Paris he decided to count the stairsteps of the Eiffel Tower, "347 Steps to the Observation Deck" and wrote a cool song about it. Doug thought it would make a good intro and it would be fun to have a number at the beginning of the podcast name to hopefully put it on the top of alphabetical lists as well. Get his song now at iTunes

347 Steps never asks listeners for money as they are all well off Southern Californians with good tans, however if you do like the show please help friends figure out how to find it. The bigger the listener numbers, the more naked people they will have on.

explicit - Episode 275 - Madhouse Comedy Club & Polo Ceniseros - Apr 10, 2014

Listen now

Robert Lariviere, comedian and owner of  the Madhouse Comedy Club and comedian Polo Ceniseros join the table with tales of the comedy biz - FYI, it can get downright nasty.  Sheldon brings Zumbar Imperial Chocolate Coffee Stout from New English Brewing Co. Doug goes to traffic court…again and Thom's Music Corner has the table lip synching - perfect podcast entertainment…NOT!  Terri and Mike add to the laughs in “Find the Fake” and rumor has it that Adam has eloped with Gregory Page. When all else fails, we follow Doug’s example and put a cock in it!!!

Past Episodes

explicit - Episode 274 - Benchmark Brewing - Mar 27, 2014

Listen now

It is a family affair when Matt and Rachel Aiken from Benchmark Brewing join the table with a couple of great beers in tow.  Terri’s “mom” issues come to the fore... again and Doug works hard on his IBU’s.  Thom’s parasite of the week are his “earworms”, unfortunately though they don’t get in the way of his “News You Should Lose”.  Doug also gets to read a contrite letter from Gregory Page which tellingly neglects to mention that Adam and Mike have run off with him.  If you think this episode’s description is a tad short, not to worry - the show is BIG and.... it’s a small world after all!

explicit - Episode 273 - SD Ghost Hunters & Pizza Port Brewery - Mar 20, 2014

Listen now

Maritza and Colleen of the San Diego Ghost Hunters manifest at the table with spectral tales and “evidence” of such via their EVP but sadly, no slime. Interestingly, it appears that San Diego ghosts are partial to Victorian era influenced architecture - who knew?  Devon Randall, Head Brewer, Pizza Port Solana Beach shares some of her great beers and brings with her Gordie Gerski, Packaging Line Supervisor at The Lost Abbey and a brewer in his own right.  Thom definitely thinks he is the Bossa Nova of us. Either it’s his Cachaça addiction or they stole his mind as well as his kidney in Brazil. Doug, still managing to escape the clutches of the long arm of the law, fakes out the table with a round of “Find the Fake”. Speaking of ghosts, Adam, Mike and Terri have not been seen anywhere - could they be touring with Gregory Page or do they just not like Bossa Nova?  Be afraid, be very afraid!

Doug's 2 min ghost hunting video

explicit - Episode 272 - Intuitive Counselor Kari Samuels - Mar 13, 2014

Listen now

Now long past her Saturn return, “Intuitive Counselor & Happiness Coach”, Kari Samuels floats to the 347 table to remind us about our “soul’s purpose” and using our intuition. Speaking of, Doug finally finds his car part and is able to get his car smogged…. only a year later than required - see what can happen when Mercury is no longer in retrograde! Thom uses his intuition to guess Kari’s musical likes and Sheldon takes pity on Doug by bringing two “non-hoppy” beers, “Willy” and “Mandarin Nectar” from Alpine Beer Co. Doug even guesses the IBU number but no one guesses Doug’s number however, Kari works the numbers just fine….Mike has a “master number” but just wants to be liked, Thom likes to be in charge and Sheldon is an old soul - so that explains the decrepitude.  Adam doesn’t make it to this show but at least he let us know - unlike Gregory Page. Good vibrations all around…you will like this show, it’s predestined.

Watch Doug's 2 minute ghost hunting video!!!

explicit - Episode 271 - Comedian Ryan Hicks - Mar 6, 2014

Listen now

Stand-up comedian Ryan Hicks, his “dark stuff” now distant in the rearview mirror, joins the 347 table with tales of being a “new standup” - in the shadow of his uncle, the late, great standup comedian, Bill Hicks.  Thom “Bossa Novas” in with “News You Should Lose” and tales of his trip to Sao Paulo with a bottle of Cachaça in tow - we now understand how they get through a Brazilian waxing!  Sheldon brings "Jurata", a Baltic Porter, that is a collaboration brew between Coronado Brewing Co and Cigar City Brewing.  Doug manages to track down an elusive car part.  Hopefully he can finally have his car smogged before he lands in the clink.  Terri puts down her pop tarts, spins the “Wheel of Lame” and lucky Ryan wins the cheese.  Mike is out there somewhere looking for an escaped koala and perhaps Gregory Page? …mas que, nada (as in Brazilian Portuguese, not Spanish).

explicit - Episode 270 - Musician Gergory Page - Feb 27, 2014

Listen now

Singer/songwriter Gregory Page does NOT appear in this show but Terri Mitchell of PR1ZE certainly does.  Doug plays part two of his interview with Bobby Slayton - if you thought part one was bad, just wait.  Mike brings his buddy, blogger Rick Schipp who calls Bullschipp on everything and Adam does the same with Gregory Page.  Doug bamboozles the crew with a news quiz and Sheldon’s Beer of the Week is The Stochasticity Project’s Grapefruit Slam IPA - try saying that three times fast after drinking it!  Thom brings us both some special news and features The Rugburns (without Gregory Page) in his Music Corner.  Fortunately the great band Pecory Gage shows up just in time to save the day.  Welcome to the Thunderslit!

explicit - Episode 269 - Singer Songwriter Christopher Dale - Feb 20, 2014

Listen now

Singer/songwriter Christopher Dale returns to the 347 table - clearly he did not learn the first time around!  Doug’s wants to look like Christie Brinkley when he get’s older - bro, you may need smaller boobs for your frame!  Doug also get’s to interview comedian Bobby Slayton with some recycled "Bobby Slayton interview questions" and is surprised when things don’t go as smoothly as planned.  Adam just thinks Bobby is bitter - like Adam will be eventually.  Sheldon brings Karl Strauss’ 25th Anniversary Doppel Bock aged in bourbon barrels and Thom is just too jet lagged to say much. Time to board this “Crazy Train”.

explicit - Episode 268 - Pro Skate Author Sean Mortimer - Feb 6, 2014

Listen now

Former Canadian pro skateboarder and current writer and journalist, Sean Mortimer hops off the short bus and grinds to the 347 table with tales of Tony Hawk, Norm Macdonald and how to never wear a tie.  We learn a little more about Doug’s previous serial dating and Thom’s music corner skates to the wrong revolution.  Adam, with only one degree of separation, geeks out on the Tony Hawk Pro Skater Nintendo N64 game he had growing up and turns inquisitor.  Sheldon brings Alesmith’s Old Numbskull Barley Wine. It seems to pair well with a bunch of numbnuts!

Go read something, buy one of Sean Mortimer's books at Amazon.

explicit - Episode 267 - Singer Whitney Shay - Jan 30, 2014

Listen now

Talented vocalist (and wannabe Flying Monkey!) Whitney Shay joins the table and regales us with tales of jazz lessons, the San Diego music scene and being tailed by swing dancers.  We also learn that comics are in general depressed, with damaged psyches, low self esteem and sociopathic traits, er DUH!  Doug makes peace with the meanies at Synfast, then gets all lubed up and makes us guess random sounds.  Thom auditions to read the news on SNL - come on Lorne, man up!  Sheldon brings a Belgian table beer from Benchmark Brewing Co.  Adam and Doug share fantasy date plans for Whitney and Mike's are more scary than the screaming Sasquatch! Could it get more odd?  We can only try!

explicit - Episode 266 - Amy Lisewski of Finest City Improv - Jan 23, 2014

Listen now

Funny lady, Amy Lisewski, founder of Finest City Improv joins the table. Thom’s Music Corner samples portions of “Everything's Coming Up Profits:  The Golden Age of Industrial Musicals”. Sheldon returns from Mexico with no beer but rather a Tequila of the Week. Adam shares a bad date and Doug’s original thought is that he never has one! We also discover a pussy that’s armed and dangerous. Yes folks, finally the opportunity for one hell of a bang!

explicit - Episode 264 - Brandon Hernandez of Stone Brew - Jan 9, 2014

Listen now

Brandon Hernandez, communications specialist for the Stone Brewing Company and craft beer and food writer for publications too numerous to list here, joins the table for a chat about all things San Diego craft beer and his new ebook “San Diego Beer News Complete Guide to San Diego Breweries”.  Speaking of, Sheldon brings “Gift of the Magi” a seasonal Bière de Garde from The Lost Abbey.  Doug ends up in parking validation hell and Thom brings us a delicious Music Corner full of crappy holiday tunes from, Twisted Sister, Scott Weiland, Michael Hasselhoff and others.  No, we are not joining the war against Christmas.  Think of it rather as a small skirmish.
